Member resources

We work hard to support our members through professional development, continuing education, insurance & group benefit plans, and collaboration with system partners on policy and advocacy work to engage the sector and the public.

  • Up to date information and resources
AMHO remains up to date on key developments in the MHA sector, healthcare system and with government in order to provide our member organizations with concise, current information, as well as analysis of key issues facing the sector. In other words, as a member, you can rely on AMHO for accurate and timely information.
  • Education, events and networking opportunities
Our events and Communities of Practice (CoPs) provide members with the opportunity to learn more about sector challenges and opportunities and share ideas and information with other members. Events include webinars, conferences, and various other opportunities to learn, network and engage with peers and government.
  • Group benefits and insurance rates
Keep your staff healthy and safe with a comprehensive health and dental plan at highly competitive rates with AMHO’s group benefits plan. Benefits include health, dental, life and disability insurance and comprehensive liability insurance for all levels of government, from Board of Directors and staff to property.
  • Advocacy and government relations
On behalf of our members, AMHO advocates for a more comprehensive and connected mental health and addictions system, and ultimately the well-being of all Ontarians. AMHO acts as the collective voice of our members and the individuals they serve by participating on various policy and planning committees, as well as through engagement with elected officials (eg. MPPs), Ontario Health, Ministry officials, media and other health sector partners.
  • A holistic approach
AMHO represents both the addiction and mental health sectors, and we work closely with primary care, community support services, justice and other sectors to bring a comprehensive approach to all the work we do.
  • Policy, service development and quality improvement work
AMHO actively engages with government and sector partners to help shape and form policy direction, based on member input and expertise. We also incorporate the views of persons with lived and living experiences in our work. AMHO offers policy expertise to strengthen our members' capacity to use evidence and data and improve service quality.
