Announcing the retirement of Gail Czukar, AMHO CEO

13th Apr 2018 AMHO News

April 12, 2018Gail Czukar

After a 40 year career in community services and almost four years at AMHO, CEO Gail Czukar has announced her retirement at the end of June.

Gail’s leadership has been significant in a number of ways.

AMHO arose to support a more comprehensive and responsive system for the treatment of addictions and mental health, and to bring system wide representation for our members and a stronger voice for the clients we serve every day across the province. With Gail’s leadership over the past four years, we have made great strides in this regard. She gave voice to the needs of the people who count on AMHO’s services and supports, as well as the 220+ organizations who serve them. And she has ensured that AMHO’s messages are heard by key decision-makers and is a respected voice for our causes.

“I feel privileged and proud to have shared in the growth and change that has happened at AMHO and increasing the profile of community services, in particular, in the larger system. It really does feel like our big moment is finally here.”

From Board Chair Vaughan Dowie, “Gail leaves AMHO after having put in place a strong foundation for the future. AMHO’s board of directors has engaged an executive search firm to support the recruitment of a new CEO. We will be looking for a leader that will build on her legacy and lead transformation in the mental health and addiction sector.”

Thank you Gail, for your years of exemplary leadership.
