Stigma. It’s on everybody’s lips. And we’re making progress in our efforts to address it. But what happens after we tackle stigma?
Join AMHO’s CEO, Gail Czukar, at CMHA’s Mental Health For All conference September 29 & 30, 2016. Gail will moderate a keynote panel that explores the “post-stigma” experience many people currently face: lack of access and waitlists. The panel will discuss the lack of access to community-based services and supports, evidence-based psychological services, general and specialized physician supports and lack of affordable access to novel and more effective medications.
Panelists include individuals with lived mental health experience, family members who’ve struggled to access services, and health service providers advocating for much-needed services and supports.
The panel, entitled: “I’ve stood up to stigma and reached out for help: Now what?” will take place on Friday, September 30 at 3 p.m. at the Toronto Hilton. Panelists include Mark Henick, Robin Payne, Ann Dowsett Johnston and Karen Cohen.
