AMHO Announces New CEO

17th Feb 2022 AMHO News

AMHO is excited to announce our new permanent CEO, Alisha Tharani.

Alisha brings with her a wealth of healthcare leadership and experience in partnerships, advocacy, stakeholder, and government relations, both federally and provincially. Most recently, Alisha was the Executive Director for the Mental Health Partners, a partnership between Ontario’s ten specialty mental health centres.

Prior to that, Alisha held senior roles at the Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) at Baycrest Health Sciences, and the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN), where her focus was on seeding and overseeing collaborative initiatives and bridging diverse interests with government and other key partners across the health sector.

Alisha holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management and is an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Toronto Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.

AMHO would like to thank Boyden Canada for their help in our executive search and for understanding how important it to find a candidate that will uphold our mission and values.

We are confident that Alisha brings with her the expertise, enthusiasm and focus on partnerships that we need to support the mental health addictions sector and the clients we care for. Under her leadership, we know AMHO will continue to be a leading voice and partner to government and health sector in advanced of a stronger mental health and addictions system in Ontario.

Her first day will be March 28th, 2022. We hope you will join us in welcoming her.
