July 21, 2016
The second Excellence Through Quality Improvement Project (E-QIP) webinar provided information on the outcomes of the seven Regional Consultations, which have been a key component since the program’s launch in March.
More than 50 webinar participants received an update about quality improvement with the community mental health and addictions sector across Ontario. The webinar also outlined the upcoming resource and training opportunities that will be offered through the E-QIP project for the sector.
An overview of the upcoming resource and training offerings that will be provided through E-QIP was also reviewed through the webinar. E-QIP will build sector-wide quality improvement capacity by delivering quality improvement and leadership training; providing access to advanced learning programs related to quality improvement; implementing quality improvement and data coaching support; and creating a virtual community of practice that will facilitate knowledge translation regarding quality improvement and data collection within the community mental health and addictions sector. An anticipated timeline and details of how to access/apply for E-QIP offerings were provided through the webinar.

E-QIP is an 18-month partnership project with Addictions and Mental Health Ontario (AMHO), CMHA Ontario and Health Quality Ontario (HQO) aimed at building capacity and enhancing quality improvement practices within Ontario’s community mental health and addictions sector. The initiative will be taking positive steps forward in ensuring that clients are provided with the best possible services and outcomes when receiving care and support from community mental health and addictions agencies. The project will also support the dedicated and skilled services providers within the sector to improve the quality of services provided to their clients through education, training and resources relating to implementing quality improvement methods.
