AMHO Commends Ontario’s Commitment to Reconciliation and Improving Mental Health and Addictions Supports for Indigenous Peoples

On May 31, Addictions and Mental Health Ontario (AMHO) commended Premier Kathleen Wynne on her apology for residential schools and the government’s recognition of the need for more comprehensive and accessible mental health and addictions services for Indigenous communities, families and individuals.

“This commitment is an important step forward towards greater mental health and wellness for the province’s Indigenous Peoples, and towards improved culturally based suicide prevention strategies and justice supports,” said Gail Czukar, CEO of AMHO.
